Occupational Health Risk Assessment (OHRA) on chemical, physical, ergonomical and biological agents as required in terms of Regulation 5 of the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Substances and other requirements of the OHS Act (85 of 1993). The OHRA shall be conducted in accordance with the agreed Method Statement MS 002/12: Method for conducting an Occupational Health Risk Assessment.

Lighting survey to evaluate compliance with the requirements of Regulation 3 of the Environmental Regulations for Workplaces, OHS Act (85 of 1993). The survey shall be conducted in accordance with SANS 10114-1: 2005, Code of Practice for Interior Lighting, Part 1: Artificial Illumination of Interiors and SANS 10389-1: 2003, Code of Practice for Exterior Lighting, Part I: Artificial Lighting for Exterior Areas for Work and Safety.

Noise survey for hearing conservation purposes to evaluate compliance with the requirements of the Noise Induced Hearing Loss Regulations, OHS Act (85 of 1993). The survey shall be conducted in accordance with the method described in SANS 10083: 2013, the measurement and assessment of occupational noise for hearing conservation purposes.

Personal noise dosimetry (6 samples) to evaluate compliance with the Noise-Induced Hearing Loss Regulations, OHS Act (85 of 1993)*. The survey shall be conducted in accordance with the method described in Annexure D of SANS 10083: 2013, the measurement and assessment of occupational noise for hearing conservation purposes.

Ventilation survey to evaluate compliance with Regulation 5 of the Environmental Regulations for Workplaces, OHS Act (85 of 1993), Part O of SANS 10400: 1990, The application of the National Building Regulations and international guidelines for indoor air quality. The survey shall be conducted in accordance with methods described in the HVAC Assessment Handbook, A Practical Guide to Performance Measurements in Mechanical HVAC Systems, by TSI Incorporated and shall include an evaluation of the means of fresh outside air supply, linear air velocity, temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

Evaluation of employee exposure to dust (10 samples) as required in terms of Regulation 6 of the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Substances, OHS Act (85 of 1993)*. The measurement programme shall be conducted as contemplated in Chapters 3 (sampling of maximum risk employee) and 4 of the NIOSH Occupational Exposure Sampling Strategy Manual (OESSM). The results of the survey shall be evaluated against Occupational Exposure Limits given in Table 2 of the Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Substances, OHS Act (85 of 1993), unless stated otherwise.

An evaluation of employee exposure to heat stress to establish compliance with the requirements of Regulation 2 of the Environmental Regulations for Workplaces, OHS Act (85 of 1993). The survey shall be conducted in accordance with the method described in ISO 7243: Hot environments - Estimation of the heat stress on working man, based on the WBGT.

Ergonomics survey, including an evaluation of computer workstations, working heights, reaching distances, chairs and sitting postures, lifting of weights, materials handling and design of hand tools as required in terms of the OHS Act (85 of 1993).
